This Advent: Consider Love.
A recent headline suggested that "retail therapy" might be just the thing needed to recover from the drama of the election...but is what you're longing for really found on aisle 21 at Target? Perhaps this Christmas, you are seeking some deeper peace in your life.
Advent begins Sunday November 27th. Advent is a time in the Christian year when we consider the miracle that God is not a distant father-figure doling out punishment and reward from afar but is instead a "down-to-earth" God who moves among us, inviting us into lives of love and humble care for one another.
If you would like to deepen your understanding what is means to follow Jesus, please join our Advent Study on Wednesdays at 7 pm starting Nov. 30 at Knox Presbyterian Church. Co-led by Rev. Emily Stockert and Lin Park (Knox Deacon), the study will include Bible Study and reflection on contemporary issues. It is based on the book Down to Earth: The Hopes and Fears of All the Years are Met in Thee Tonight. Click here to see a preview.
Space is limited. Click here to sign up now by email. Books are available online and at church. Let Pastor Emily know if you would like to pick up a book at church (especially, let her know you need one at low or no-cost).
