                                                                                                   A MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR

January 2021

Blessings of Epiphany, wholeness, and health to you and your family during these extraordinary times!

I am so pleased to be called as pastor to the Santa Rosa community and to Knox Presbyterian and Thanksgiving Lutheran Churches.  I am a new arrival in Northern California having just moved right before Christmas with my spouse (and two cats) from New Jersey.  Big changes for us!  I feel blessed to be here among you, and I look forward to getting a chance in the next few weeks to speak with everyone, to get to know you a little, and to hear about your hopes and dreams for our ministry together.

It's certainly challenging to be the church these days, when we can't even meet very often in person for worship or events.  But I hear how important it is to the members of Knox and TLC to be connected to the community and to "preach the gospel at all times," in the words of  St. Francis, through our action as well as our words.

So your ministry and your care for each other are ongoing even in the middle of a pandemic.  I am excited about seeing, in the coming weeks and months (and years!) how that "preaching" will be expressed through what we do in this community.

I would love to hear your ideas and thoughts, your concerns, and your celebrations - so please feel free to be in touch with me.

Take good care, be well, and know that God walks with you through all your challenges and joys.
