Rev. Dr. Diane Bowers
Rev. Diane Bowers , our temporary pastor, is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She is also the interim pastor of Thanksgiving Lutheran Church, the congregation with whom Knox shares space. Born in Africa to Lutheran missionary parents, she is a theologian, writer and teacher with a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology and a particular love for the Reformation. Her current interest include developing new paths for shrinking congregations. She is an adjunct instructor at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. Diane lives in Berkeley with her husband Hans-Christian Kapser and their baby son. She and Hans love to play with their sweet baby, read to him, and take him on walks. They also spend too much time on Facebook, discuss politics, ride trains, and share a mutual love of California wine, food, architecture and landscape.
